So I learned to stare right back. I have always been proud of my sister. She is smart, successful, and fun. When I was in high school, she had to have five orthopedic surgeries—on her knees, ankles, and hands. She was in casts all over her body and couldn't move on her own. Before I went to school, I had to help my parents carry her to the bathroom and then to the couch or a wheelchair. As soon as school was over, I would run home and help my mom carry her to the bathroom while my dad was at work.
