On exige d'un robot qu'il deplace un objet dans une position de l'espace et le transporte dans une autre position. Dans les cours de mecanique elementaire. on apprend que pour definir 1a position d'un corps rigide. i1 faut 6 coordonnees. Pour definir un point. il faut 3 coordonnees de l'espace et pour definir la position d'un corps par rapport a ce point. il faut encore 3 coordonnees de rotation.
