Because I was a slow reader, it was hard to keep up with longer assignments. But I never had a feeling of inferiority as a result of these problems. That’s probably because I am so strong in science and math. In fifth grade, if I tried to write even close to as fast as I could think, my writing became illegible. My hand just wouldn’t move as fast as my mind. If I tried to slow my thoughts down, they would get broken up. I had a problem: Should I think more slowly to keep up with my hand, or try to force my hand to keep up with my mind?
So I constantly worry about passing. A. program. I’m in my first year as a part-time student, and it was actually easy to get back into studying. Of course, I am studying all the time, and I sometimes request special help. Study groups, tutors, a few understanding teachers, and hard work have helped me get off to a great start. With my knowledge, I will one day return home and build something unique that will leave my footprint in Puerto Rican history. It took Carlos a little longer to finish college than other students in his class, but he did it and feels great.
Blocks, which make it easier for students to grasp abstract concepts. I also use rhythm and dance to teach these concepts. I am an excellent reading and writing teacher, and I often help other teachers in these areas. In college, my teachers helped me see that I am a strong leader and that I am very good at making people feel good about themselves.
